I have node-red installed on my MacBook with @ncd-io/node-red-enterprise-sensors v1.4.7.
I’m reviewing the calibration instructions and previous posts / this video which say to check Auto Config and input the calibration values within the sensor node.
For the pH/ORP sensor, I am not seeing the option to add the calibration value. (Screenshot attached). The sensor is connected and logs data successfully.
Does this mean there’s no auto calibration available for this sensor?
If that’s the case, do I need a separate inject/function node, with the function based on the calibration commands in the manual? Would that function be directed into the Wireless Device, the Wireless Gateway (I have the USB modem), or a serial out that points to the modem?
Thanks in advance for any insights - I am new to node-red and the NCD ecosystem so appreciate any guidance!
The probe should be calibrated for the pH7 firs and then pH4 and pH10.
Put the sensor in configure mode
Put the pH probe in pH7 liquid and steer it
Wait for a minute
Send the pH7 calibration command (By pressing the Write Sensor Configuration)
Once the calibration is done sensor will send a response. This could take up to 30sec
Take the probe out of the pH7 liquid and use water to clean it. We recommend steering in the water. Do not use cloth or paper towel to clean the probe.
Repeat step 5,6,7 for pH4 and pH10
Set pH Probe Warm up time: pH electrodes has a settling time. This time can change from probe to probe. Generally this time is around 30 sec – 1 min.
Once you are in config mode and have config window open in alpha station. Put the probe in ph 7 and stir it. Leave it alone for couple of sec and then send calib 7 command using aloha station.
After 35 sec take probe out and rinse it in water and put in ph 4 and stir it and level it alone for couple of sec and then send calib 4 and then same for ph 10.
Hi Eduardo, thank you. So Alpha station is no longer maintained, but must be used for calibration? Should I then use Alpha Station for calibration, but continue using node-red for data logging? Is there any way to do everything in Node-RED, as I don’t have dual boot for a MacBook?
