Sensor Penetration in Refrigerated Shipping Container?

Hi,
I have a customer looking to place a temperature sensor (such as https://store.ncd.io/product/industrial-iot-wireless-rtd-temperature-sensor/) in a refrigerated shipping container and having the signal sent to an AWS gateway.
Has anyone had experience with this. Will the signal penetrate at 2.4GHz or would ~900 MHz be required to penetrate the structure, and what would be the signal reach out of the container?
Thanks

Hi,

If you are in the Americas then you should use the 900mhz option.

I would highly recommend one of these gateways as an alternative to the AWS Gateway which will be discontinued in the coming months:

Thanks for the info. In Australia/NZ the available frequency is 915-928MHz. Is it possible to have this as an option when purchasing?

Hi Mike,

Yes, if purchased with the 900mhz module we can set the channel mask to operate from 915-928mhz range so you are legal. Just note this in Order Notes during check out.

Thank you,
