Programming Sensor Twice in Node Red? Fails the first time

Hello, We have noticed a while back now that if we want to modify the sensor settings via Node Red and the NCD Enterprise Pallet, we need to perform the R + C button pressing sequence twice. The first time the config always fails. This is consistent for all sorts of NCD sensors, all running older to most recent versions of the Node Red NCD Enterprise Palletes.

It always seems to work the second time around.

Wondering if this is expected or a known bug?

We always press R first to get the reading, then Select the Device on Node Red, Click Deploy, but the Modem in Config mode, and then Press R + C for 5-7 Seconds. When that fails, I sometimes need to put the modem back into listening and again config mode and repeat the process.

Thank you!

Hi,

In Node-Red on the Wireless Device node do you have the “Wait for Network Formation” enabled? This option will slow down the configuration by ~4.5 seconds, but it does improve the reliability of configurations.

If that doesn’t help could you let me know which specific sensor type you’re seeing this on, its firmware version, and whether you’re using our Enterprise Gateway when this happens?

OK thank you @jacob we will take a look, I do believe we have that option selected. Appreciate your quick response as always.

I’ll get you more info if we find it necessary, but I think that answers it for now
