Need help with MIRMR45

Need help with my MIRMR45, I’ve had the kit for a while now and have been running test with just the modules (1 transmitter & 4 receivers) everything has worked great in testing so I’ve finally got around to building the devices these will control. The receiver units are activating LED strobe lights as a sort of warning system. The transmitter’s contact closures are activated using an R45PL_keyfob…. This is basically to get extended range but still use a tiny remote. The R45PL and the MIRMR45 are mounted together inside a plastic enclosure sharing the same 12v power source. Now that I have the first fixture built and all hooked up the unit worked for several test and is now not working. I’m thinking the problem is the MIRMR45, upon power up the R1, R2, & R3 led indicators are lit as well as the Ready. The R1-3 LEDs remain lit for 24ish seconds before shutting off, the ready led remains lit and the busy LED never lights. I have tried both modes A & B with same results…. I’m hearing an audible high pitch whine coming from the XBee module (sound not present if it’s not attached). I’m also metering 5v across each of its contact closures (not sure if that’s supposed to have voltage). The R45PL seems to be operating as intended still, I’ve checked its relays and am getting no voltage from its contacts. I’ve tried swapping the XBee module with one from one of the receivers with same results.

For diagnostic purposes I would recommend sitting the MirM transmitter and receivers on a bench near each other with antennas installed. Make sure nothing is connected to the inputs or relay output contacts and power them all no. Now use a short jumper wire to trip the inputs on the MirM transmitter to see if the relays on the corresponding receivers actuate. Let us know the results.

It is normal to have 5VDC on the inputs. These are essentially pulled high inputs so you will read 5VDC on them.

Thank you,
Travis Elliott

I have done that, with same results…. I’m leaving the one receiver that I have now installed in a fixture powered down and have been testing with my remaining 3 receivers that are loose. Every test the transmitter is lighting R1-R3 LEDs for 24 seconds upon power up, regardless if a receiver is powered or not.

Still awaiting a response…

It sounds like the Transmitter board is damaged in some way and will require repair. You can fill out an RMA here:
