On the MirX series it doesn’t particularly matter which board is the server and which is the client. One simply needs to listen on a port and the other needs to connect to that port.
I went through the online setup and I am still having issues.
The unit I am setting up as the client will not accept a baud rate change. So it is at the default 115200 instead of the 57600
The red LED light on the ethernet board is a steady red. Documentation indicates that means the two boards are connected.
When I activate input 1-3 on either board nothing happens. When I activate input 4 on either board the BUSY and READY LEDs start flashing back and forth on the opposite board.
What is my next step in getting these two boards to function as they should?
Setting the baud rate to 57600 is required to communicate so if this isn’t functioning it will be an issue. Can you change any settings on the module or is it just the baud rate that is not setting?
Yes, a red led next to the RJ45 being lit up indicates an open socket.
When the LEDs flash then communications are being attempted, however the incorrect baud rate will garble the message.
Can you send a photo of your hardware setup that is having issues setting the baud rate and a screenshot of the configurations for both sides?
I was able to change the baud rate on both units to 38400. After having success with that I tried changing to 57600, this time it took and both units are now working as they should.
