MIRC contact question

I work for an access control company and we would like to use the MIRC in a location where we have network connectivity but cannot get control cable for door contacts to access control panel. The door contacts are normally closed, but if I’m understanding the MIRC activated the relay on closure. In this scenario the relays would be energized constantly and only deactivate when the door opened. I can work with that but will the units burn out or can they handle constant energy?
Do you have another solution other than changing the contacts to NO?
Please advise, thanks

Hi,

I apologize, I am not sure how this forum post was missed.

It is OK for the relay on the receiver to be energized full time. It is preferable to avoid this if possible but it is still ok. It will reduce the length of the relay’s life.
