Machine Runtime Hour Meter for Crane

I am using the Machine Runtime Hour Meter on one of our cranes to see how often the hoist is run up or down. I have attached the Runtime Hour Meter to several locations on the hoist motor but i am not receiving Magnetometer counts while operating the motor. Isn’t the Magnetometer supposed to detect rotational fields such as a motor rotation?

are you mounting using magnet ?
what kind of motor is this ?

Yes I was using the included magnet to mount it on the motor. It is a 220 volt 3 phase motor. I tried mounting the sensor on the end of the motor to monitor shaft spinning and also on the side of the motor

Yes, that would be an issue if you want to use the magnetometer, as the magnet will always trigger the sensor. You can utilize the vibration values to determine whether the motor is on or off. This method will be easier if you choose to use a magnet mount.

Are the vibration values shown seperately than the accelerometer and magnetometer? I only see those two under sensor values

i meant accelerometer. if motor is not vibrating alot set your threshold level to like 100mg.

OK. Thanks for the feedback
