during the first installation i read my ip adress ETH 192.168.10.1. i can’t access i get Connection timed out
make sur your pc is on same network as the edge computer
the ethernet wire that i use to connect edge computer is directly attached on my pc
you will need to connect it through a router.
i have a ADSL modem i tried also to connect with it but i got the same. the only way to connect is using wifi but i see only system. i cannot navigate towars modem or network
you can click on node red.
was it working earlier ?
this error is coming from the radio module not able to talk to edge computer.
can you share serial setting ?
Hi @mirko You can access these from the search tab in the top right, then select 'Configuration nodes:
Double-clicking the ncd-gateway-config
node will open the serial settings. Could you share a screenshot of this with us? It should look like this:
Thank you,
Eduardo M.
dear Eduardo i tried to set serial port as your (/dev/ttyS1) and now i get the following:
in order to summary the overall chain i use IoT edge computer as following:
- i connect by wifi (ncdgateway-73F9 … it doenst work by using ethrnet connection neither to my pc neither to my ASLD router)
- i connect my modem throught USB port on the IoT egde
- i use wifi connectio btw sensor and modem
is it ok?
Hi @mirko Sure, The IoT Edge computer is Linux-based and uses the serial port “/dev/ttyS1” to communicate with the radio module, rather than a COM port as in Windows-based systems.
Just to clarify, the IoT Edge computer does not require the Industrial IoT USB Modem to communicate with NCD Sensors, as it already integrates a Radio Frequency Module compatible with your frequency to receive data from NCD sensors.
I recommend reviewing the IoT Edge Computer documentation that I have shared with you:
To configure the NCD sensor parameters, such as the sampling time, I suggest referring to the following article:
Note: We do not recommend The IoT Edge Computer for New designs. I recommend the Enterprise IIoT Gateway Lite instead:
Please review the resources and recommendations, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Eduardo M.
dear Eduardo thanks for your explanation expecially becouse you do not take for granted some knowledge directly related to the IT profession. now my problem is how to use IoT edge without using my laptop. as you problably know i connect by wifi and in order to put on line the IoT edge i need to use my laptop becouse ethernet wi connection doent work. a very strage things is, based on youtube video, that my network and modem tabs are not editable.
