Generating Text Messages from Contact Closure Email Generator

I am trying to configure the Contact Closure Email Generator to send a text message (since the description for the product says that it can send text messages). I am able to get it to send an email upon startup but when I put a comma after the email address and add a phone number, I get no email and no text message at startup. Is there a secret that I’m missing?

Hi Kimberly,

It is possible to send text messages to cell phones using email. To do that you put in the phone number followed by @cellprovider. For example:
5555555555@vtext.com for Verizon. All cell providers follow a similar scheme for sending text messages via email. You can look up the scheme for your specific cell service provider.

Thanks so much for the answer. It sounds like the user still needs to set up the Email Client Configuration section to get the texts to go through. Is that right?

Hi Kimberly,

Yes, you must fill in email client credentials so the device can use that email account to send emails.
