I have a Gen3 Ethernet Module and cannot connect to the web interface. I’m directly connected by Ethernet cable, with the static IP jumper in place. The NCD Config Tool can see the Module, but trying to access the web interface doesn’t work. I have tried to update the firmware, but the Config tool returns the error, "Failed to open TCP connection with the select device:
MAC = …
IP = 192.168.1.88
Usually this is caused by your PC’s ethernet/NIC being on a different sub network than the Ethernet module. You can either remove the static IP jumper and use the NCD Config tool to reconfigure the module to be on the same network as your PC’s ethernet (generally the easier option) or you can put your computer’s ethernet port on the same IP subnet as the module.
You can find a windows machine’s IP and subnet through the network manager or by using the command ipconfig from the command line. This should give you the IP address and subnet of that port. Also it should be in the top left of the NCD config tool and you can just increment that IP by 1. i.e. if you have the IP address 169.254.1.20 on your PC you can give the module the IP address 169.254.1.21
To change your PCs Ethernet IP address you can use the Windows network manager.
