External power supply for Predictive Maintenance Sensor V3

Hello,

I have a few questions about these sensors.

  1. If I order a predictive maintenance sensor with an external power supply, does the IP65 rating still apply?
  2. Is there a problem with the sensor, not battery, if I set the transmission interval to 1 second or less?
  3. We have two predictive maintenance sensors that run on battery power only; we need to set the transmission interval to 1 second. Can we modify the sensors by soldering two 12 V DC wires to the sensor board at the solder points shown in the photo? I want to know if this modification would work.

  1. We use connectors with seals, but drilling a hole in the enclosure makes it prone to water and vapor intrusion.
  2. The minimum interval for this sensor is 1 minute.
  3. Yes, your modification will work.
