Hello,
I purchased a few 3-phase current sensors to install at one of my clients’ sites (PR55-26). I’ve read some posts on the forum mentioning a rather complex and difficult-to-understand procedure for calibrating these sensors using the “Channel X Current Calibration Value” field in the Node-Red configuration node.
My question is: is it absolutely necessary to calibrate these sensors before using them, or should this only be done when the measured values are inaccurate?

Thank you
Hi @bertrand.gauvreau sure, let me ask you;
- What is the CT current probe range?
- What is the AC Current range you will measure (your AC Current machine range)?
Thank you.
we ship pre calibrated. if you change the CT then yes you will need to recalibarte.

Hi @Eduardo_Mtz ,
1- CT : 0-600A
2- Current drawn by the motors : 0-205A
Thanks
Hi @Bhaskar ,
The sensors came with 0-600A CTs. So, if I understand correctly, the sensors were calibrated for these CTs and don’t need to be recalibrated as long as I use the same CT size?
So in Node-Red, I leave the “Active” checkbox for “Channel 1-2-3 Current Calibration Value” unchecked, right?
Thanks
yes keep it unchecked and no need for calibration
