Hello! I am planning to order these sensors for a research project and had a few questions.
I am planning to use the sensors for multi-day monitoring of pH in a sewer manhole, keeping the received in weatherproof housing. We can clean the electrodes every day or two to prevent buildup in the sewer and debris is always a risk - but are there any other glaring concerns with using these pH/ORP electrodes in a sewer environment?
Can I calibrate ORP using 222 mV calibration solution rather than 225? Can this be input in the software during calibration?
I didn’t see anything about electrode storage in the manual. Did I miss this - or do typical rules for storing in pH electrode solution apply?
1- This Industrial IoT Wireless pH/ORP/Temperature Sensor requires periodic calibration. The exact period depends on usage, but if the probe is used in an extremely acidic or basic environment, it will require monthly calibration, we shipped it pre-calibrated.
For your application, we recommend selecting the sensor option that uses the internal battery. The external power supply option includes an extra connector on the white box, which breaks the IP rating seal and could lead to internal damage due to the moist environment.
Wireless Range, the indoor wireless range is approximately 1200 ft. For outdoor use, the line-of-sight transmission range is up to 2 miles. Please note that these ranges can vary depending on your specific industrial environment. You can also use the USB Modem to receive data and perform the calibration: https://store.ncd.io/product/industrial-wireless-usb-modem/
For installation, we recommend the following setup:
The white support pole shown is a standard PVC pipe. A second, shorter PVC pipe should be used to extend down and touch the bottom of the tank/sewer, ensuring that the probe assembly starts above the end of this pipe.
2- Yes, you can use a 222mV calibration solution rather than a 225mV solution. 3- Yes, it apply.
