Board is not powering up, 12V present

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help with this problem:
2 new "USB, SPDT 32 CHANNEL RELAY CONTROLLER BOARDs, 12V is connected to the board, but the board LED (green) does not come on, in fact no LED’s on the board are on.
Is there a fuse on the PCB that might be out ? What else could be going on ?

Thank you for any suggestions !
Milan

Hi,

Could you provide photos of the boards, the wiring for power, and let me know the specs of the power supply used while this is happening?

Hello Jacob !
At the 12V terminal I measure 12Vdc, it’s coming from an external power supply and it is drawing around 16mA. White wire is +ve. No LEDs on. THANK YOU !

I see.

Was the USB module connected to a computer when this picture was taken?

It looks like there are multiple wires going into the 12VDC terminals. Could you simplify this and just feed in the 12VDC?

Would it be possible to provide another angle and a larger overall view of the board? Are the XR ports being utilized on this board and if so can you show the connection between the boards?

Hi Jacob,

Here’s another photo. I disconnected the internal power supply wiring and connected directly to 12Vdc power supply. I also connected the USB to a PC, red LED at the USB module is ON. THANK YOU !

Thanks, I wanted to confirm that the LEDs on the USB module are lighting up at least as they draw power over the 5V USB connection separately from the 12VDC input.

If the USB LED is lighting up, but the board LED isn’t I would recommend powering up the board with 12VDC and connecting to it using Base Station (Start - NCD.io) from a Windows machine and see if it can communicate to the board. If it can it could point to the ready LED that was cracked/damaged/disconnected during shipping, but the main board still being powered and functional.

Unfortunately if Base Station is not communicating with the board while its powered and connected I would have to recommend an RMA for us to evaluate and repair it at our facility: Log In ‹ NCD.io — WordPress

You could try a different power supply, but if its supplying 12VDC it should at the very least power the LED on the board.

Hi Jacob, thank you ! The Base Station is not communicating, it is what lead me to this issue. BTW, is there a miniture fuse on the board I can check ?

There is not a fuse on the board.
