I have two V3 dual vibration and temperature sensors that send really weird data. One of the sensors sends a temperature of -50°C but correct vibration values. While the other sensor sends a correct temperature but vibration values at 0 even if the machine is running.
It should be noted that these two sensors were working perfectly just a few days ago.
Do you have any idea what could be causing this? It seems to me that if the cables were broken, all the values would be 0, wouldn’t they?
Hi @bertrand.gauvreau Are you using Node-RED to collect sensor data? Could you please share a screenshot of the complete sensor payload, including the node ID, firmware version, battery level, sensor data, etc. of both sensors. In order to take a look, please.
Hi @bertrand.gauvreau Thank you for data. To clarify, you have two vibration and temperature sensors.
Vibration Temperature Sensor 1 - Probe 2 is reporting incorrect temperature values, while the vibration readings appear to be normal.
Vibration Temperature Sensor 2 - Probe 1 is reporting zero vibration values, but the temperature readings are accurate.
Can you confirm that the values from Sensor 1 - Probe 1, and Sensor 2 - Probe 2 are correct?
If so, as a test, could you switch Probe 2 from Sensor 1 with Probe 2 from Sensor 2?. Then, please share the complete payload values for Sensor 1. This procedure is intended to check or verify if the cable or any component in the probe is causing the issue.
Additionally, could you provide the battery status for both sensors?
As far as reversing the cables for a test is concerned, it’s quite complicated because the sensors are located at a customer’s plant several hundred miles from our offices.
And I’m a bit reluctant to ask my customer to perform this delicate maneuver.
In the past, we’ve solved this kind of problem a few times in the workshop, by performing a factory reset on the sensor.
Since V3 vibration sensors can be programmed remotely, do you think there’s any way of carrying out a factory reset remotely?
In fact, the two Node-Red frames come from two different sensors. One whose temperature displays -50°C and the other whose vrbration displays 0 even when the machine is running.
