Sensor repeatability error for displacement readings?
What is the acceptable tolerance for these measurement?

We are using the displacement reading from the sensor. What I am looking for is how much error/tolerance is expected from the sensor?
For example if we measure and receive a X- displacement of +/-.012mm from the sensor, and the the error for measurement is +/-1mm. Then this would not be the correct tool for application.
On the other hand if the error for measurement is +/-.001mm then it would be perfect for the application.
There are ways to conduct test to determine the correct measurement error, but if you have the information available, it will save significant time and effort.
