Some newbie IoT questions (Particle Photon, RFID, RS232 Shield)

Hi there, these are 3 unrelated questions but I figured it might be better than 3 individual posts, hope that’s OK:

  1. Can the EM18 RFID reader read NTAG213 NFC tags?

  2. For this Screw Terminal Breakout Board for Particle Photon, do the 4 screw holes on the bottom match some kind of industry standard? Does NCD sell any kind of standard enclosure that this can screw into (ideally with the option for a DB9 cutout as well) or does anyone know where I can get one?

  3. Related to (2), are there plans to create an RS232 / DB9 shield for Particle Photon / Feather devices?

Thanks!

Hi,

  1. I am not sure about the compatibility with NFC tags but I would assume not since RFID and NFC are different “protocols”.

  2. No, they are not any type of industry standard layout. I would recommend a generic electronics enclosure such as those available from polycase.com

  3. No we do not plan on expanding this line of products at this time or in the near future.

Thank you @TravisE_NCD_Technica for the quick response.
