Mega Modem Power consumption

Curious what the power consumption would be for the Mega Modem running Bluetooth.

Need to know that so I can find battery power supplies I can utilize for areas with no power available.

Hi Bob,

I would have to do some testing but I can tell you this device was not optimized for low energy consumption in firmware as it was just intended to be a normal Gateway device.

Also some hardware changes would need to be made so the processor can put the XBee module to sleep and wake it back up, there is not currently circuitry for doing that in the design.

Thanks for the heads up. I think the sleep and wake function is exactly what is needed but for now connected power will have to do. If I figure something out I will make sure to update you.
