what is the power switch position ?

Power switch is on external power.

if you remove the sensor and press cfg button what happens?
if the power is plugged in and switch is at ext position power led should come on when you press cfg button if not means power is bad.

are you powering with 24V ?

are you powering with 24V ? I’m using the 120VAC to 12VDC powersupply provided

I see that you sent a unit back for repair, and according to the repair notes, both the radio module and PCB were damaged (fried).

Based on our assessment, possible causes include:

  1. An issue with the input power supply, or the device being powered with more than 24V
  2. Incorrect wiring of the connected sensor
  3. The internal Molex cable was not connected to the correct port inside the enclosure

Hi,

Thanks for the insight.

  1. An issue with the input power supply, or the device being powered with more than 24V - we used the supplied PS so I think we can rule this out.
  2. Incorrect wiring of the connected sensor - Is it possible that the crossing wires could easily short the board? If so, would using the ground cable help to prevent this? Otherwise, what are some other protections we can take to reduce this in the future to improve reliability? Can you add or recommend a circuit protector on the M12 cable line to add protection? Or in this case is there anything I can do to fix it/get some replacement parts?
  3. The internal Molex cable was not connected to the correct port inside the enclosure - since it was functionally working for a period of time and then stopped working, I think we could also rule this one out.

Hi,

@Eduardo_Mtz I recently purchased the reflective photo eye from your website and wired as provided but it doesn’t seem to send any value to the transmitter. The lights on the photo eye are green + yellow when reflecting in off state, and then when i break it , the yellow light turns off.

I tested the transmitter setup with the a different photoeye and it works. is the wiring different?

Additionally i noticed that when the device is switched to the ‘off’ position, there seems to be some voltage still. Even when the 120v is unplugged. I also notice that the counter doesn’t reset. It only resets if the battery ribbon is completely unplugged.

The transmitter can send data and power the photo eye.

Hi @danempiric could you share a picture of your photo eye connection/setup please.

can you write down your connections ?
also in node red make sure your Optical Sensor Detection is set to falling edge

I’m wired in using this diagram:

The wiring reference you used it correct. As long all connections are like this it should work.

The other thing i noticed that the sensor should be off when 12V is unplugged. That means there could be wiring issue.
