I am using an external 12v power supply to power the 4-20 receiver (PR52-9). What is the max power consumption or current draw when not in standby?

it consumes around 3.3v@120mA when it is transmitting the data.

@Bhaskar do you recommend a fuse for the 12v supply? If so what size?

That should not be necessary.
